Indiana
Aid

Indiana AID (Assistance to Immigrants in Detention) provides direct support, connection, and resources to immigrants detained by ICE and their families across Indiana. Through both in-person and virtual visitation, volunteers build consistent relationships with people in detention, offer a listening ear, share information and resources, and help connect individuals and families with legal and community service providers. Indiana AID also provides commissary assistance to help detained individuals access food, medicine, and other necessities, along with books, messaging support, spiritual care, family assistance, and community education. Their work ensures that people experiencing immigration detention are not isolated or forgotten, while creating meaningful connections between detained immigrants and communities on the outside.

Sikh Coalition

The Sikh Coalition works to protect and advance the civil and human rights of Sikh Americans through legal advocacy, education, policy work, community empowerment, and civic engagement. They provide legal assistance for cases involving discrimination, hate crimes, workplace and school bullying, religious freedom, and profiling, while also working with schools, employers, government agencies, and communities to promote greater understanding of Sikhi. Through educational resources, Sikh awareness trainings, advocacy campaigns, grassroots leadership programs, and policy initiatives, the Sikh Coalition helps Sikh communities understand and defend their rights while building a more inclusive society for everyone.

Sikh Family Center

Sikh Family Center promotes community health and well-being with a particular focus on gender justice, violence prevention, and culturally grounded healing. They provide trauma-centered support and resources for victim-survivors of violence, a national helpline, prevention education, community workshops, and training for organizations and individuals. Their work is rooted in cultural humility, grassroots community power, intergenerational healing, and Sikh and Punjabi cultural contexts, with resources addressing healthy relationships, boundaries, consent, communication, power and control, and community care. Sikh Family Center also creates spaces for survivors, families, advocates, and community members to connect, learn, and work toward safer and healthier communities.
